Jenifer J. Soulikias joined the firm in 2009 as an associate in the firm's civil trial and appellate practice. She has worked both in the government and private practice, on trial-level matters and appeals, and in civil and criminal cases. Ms. Soulikias has extensive experience in preparing and trying cases, notably from her time as an Army JAG and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, though her experience in formulating case strategy, comes from her time as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Her strengths include: litigation and support, legal research and writing, and discovery review and analysis for the firm's state and federal civil cases and appeals.
BSKS Experience
Royal Caribbean v. Rolls Royce. Ms. Soulikias conducted legal research and writing on substantive and procedural issues. She both led and assisted with many areas of discovery. She also helped formulate legal strategies and assisted with preparation for trial.
Ms. Soulikias successfully argued on behalf of a client, one of the defendants in an action, for dismissal of the case upon the first complaint.
Prior Experience
- Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Soulikias was an associate at the former Ferrell Law firm, where she worked on criminal defense matters and focused on civil litigation and appeals. Before entering private practice, she was a law clerk to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida to the Honorable Jose E. Martinez, Paul C. Huck, and Chris McAliley. As a law clerk, Ms. Soulikias drafted orders, opinions, and reports and recommendations and provided guidance and information to U.S. District and U.S. Magistrate Judges in connection with both civil and criminal litigation. She also kept informed of changes in the law in order to assist the court in adjusting to new legislation and developments in case law, leaving her with a strong knowledge of recent legal precedents.
- Prior to her work in Florida, Ms. Soulikias achieved the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, where she acted as legal counsel for Fort Meade in Maryland, a Department of Defense community consisting of 16,000 military members and 30,000 civilians as well as more than 100 tenant organizations, including the National Security Agency. She served in varying capacities, including as a Procurement and Administrative Law attorney, Fort Meade's Labor and Employment Law attorney, part-time Military Magistrate, and Special Assistant United States Attorney.
- While in law school, Ms. Soulikias served as an intern with the U.S. House of Representatives, Ways and Means Committee, Tax Staff.
