ROY & LEA BLACK HOSTED THE ANNUAL GALA CORAL GABLES, FL (February 7, 2005) - The event began at the Coral Gables Country Club and included: a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner, a live auction and a special performance by Miami’s own JON SECADA. Secada’s contemporary sounds were perfectly showcased during his intimate performance. The highlight of the evening was the live auction which featured many exquisite items including; tickets to Sunday’s Super Bowl game, a walk-on role in one of director, Brett Ratner’s films, and a highly coveted spot on TV’s Blind Date. The star of the live auction was the all-new 2005 Ferrari F430, donated exclusively by THE COLLECTION, South Florida’s foremost luxury automotive dealership, which also houses showrooms for Audi, Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, Jaguar and Lotus. The fast and furious bidding for this highly anticipated dream machine ended at $325,000. The proud winners Ayesha Yesil and Engin Yesil are now the first people in Miami to own the F430. All proceeds over MSRP were donated to Bay Point Schools. The gala was an overwhelming success--raising approximately $700,000 to benefit the Bay Point Schools Charity. JAMES FERRARO was honored and recognized for his support and efforts to assist Miami’s community through the use of his time and generous financial support. Other honorees included Michael and Iris Smith, Roland and Deborah Scarpa Castro, Steven Posner, Kathryn Chesler, Cherie Hinson, Kristopher Hinson and host committee honoree Antonio Misuraca.
