Donald (“Don”) Hodson is a hard-nosed litigator whose practice focuses on complex commercial and civil matters. Don is adept in local, national, and international dispute resolution. He has litigated at the state and federal level, prevailing in lawsuits against some of the nation’s largest corporations. A former plaintiff’s attorney, Don has represented both corporate and individual clients in a myriad of commercial, defamation, employment discrimination, product liability, and negligence claims, among others. 

Before obtaining his law license, Don was elected Student Commencement Speaker by his graduating class at the University of Miami School of Law. Don also served on UM Law’s distinguished Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Executive Board where he assisted with teaching the law school’s appellate advocacy class to first and second-year law students. During his 2L year, Don won the Regional Championship in the ABA’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition under the mentorship of Roy Black before advancing to the National Championship rounds where his moot court team finished in the top eight of 204 teams participating in the competition. 

Notably, Don received numerous honors throughout the competition including “2nd Place Best Overall Oral Advocate” in the Regional Championship rounds as well as honors as a “Top 10 Best Overall Oral Advocate” for his performance in the National Championship rounds.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining Black Srebnick, Don maintained a successful law practice in downtown Miami where he represented clients in commercial disputes as well as claims for defamation, employment discrimination, medical malpratice, sexual assault and battery, and negligence.
