Lance Shinder focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation cases in Florida and New York with over three decades of hard-earned, business-related litigation and dispute resolution experience. Among his clients are individuals and companies of every size and type. He provides counseling, advice, and advocacy from filing the complaint or defending the case through trial and appeal. Lance strategizes with his team and the client with the objective of achieving the client’s goal.

Lance has successfully resolved contentious litigation involving all types of contractual and business disputes involving real estate, brokerage commissions, construction litigation, first-party property insurance claims, business torts, and a myriad of other types of business disputes. Notably, he has tried jury and non-jury cases involving breach of fiduciary duty, fraudulent conveyances, contracts, brokerage commission disputes and commercial landlord-tenant disputes involving possession and damages, including prosecuting and defending actions on personal Guarantees of commercial leases. 

Competitive at the core, Lance is known for his ability and willingness to take complicated cases to trial. At trial, Lance dedicates himself to meticulous preparation, knowing the facts inside and out, and presenting his client’s story in a straightforward and compelling way.

After many years of experience, Lance understands that every dispute and lawsuit has a financial impact on every party’s bottom line. As a result, Lance always discusses alternative dispute resolution as part of the representation and strategy. Lance is equally effective in productive negotiation and diplomacy when and where it is needed most. He delivers honed skills in finding business solutions to avoid costly, prolonged litigation if that is in the client’s best interest. His proven courtroom acumen translates into being effective in mediation.

He obtained his LL.M (Masters of Law) in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law. Lance is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, its highest rating, was selected to be a member of Florida’s Super Lawyers, is admitted to practice in Florida, New York, and the District of Columbia. He has successfully litigated and resolved high-stakes multi-million dollar business and real estate cases on a national scale.
